Some of the secret Chrome new settings have been released for long enough. However, keep in mind that some of these are technically still under development and they require you to be cautious in order to uncover and activate them. So, let’s uncover four of the best and latest features by Google for Chrome.

The Deep-Link Sharing Machine

This feature is officially available to anyone as long as the latest version of Chrome is activated on the device. What is the advantage of using this deep-link sharing machine? Pretty much, the feature lets you create a custom link to any specific section of text within a web page. Later on, you can use that link and send it to anyone you would like. This means that the one you have sent the link to will directly be sent to this area of the text you want them to see. This is definitely a very convenient feature that saves a lot of time. You can now easily access this option on both Android and your computer, no matter the OS – it is available for Windows, Chromebook, Linux and even Mac.

The only requirement is having the latest Chrome version running. It is really easy to use this feature. All you need is just highlighting an area of the text by pressing and holding your finger to the text on your phone, or if you are using a computer – by clicking and dragging with your mouse. If you are trying it on a computer, you will then need to right-click and find “Copy link to text”. This will copy the custom link to your system clipboard and then you can place it wherever you would like to. On Android, once you have selected the text, just press “Share” from the menu that will pop up and you should see a new “Link to highlight” option on the sharing panel at the bottom of the screen.

The Android Page-Peeking Panel

This next feature is specified to Android and it will help you save a lot of time. It is pretty much a special panel that allows you to peek at a link within a web page without the need of opening up a new tab and moving away from the page you are currently at. In order to be able to do so, simply press and hold the link to the page you would like to peek at, then select “Preview page” from the menu that comes up and you are ready. You will see the page from the new link to show up in a panel on top of the original page you are currently at. This will allow you to have a quick look at the new page without leaving the original one and disrupting your workflow. You are able to scroll and tap through the panel. To dismiss the panel, simply swipe it down.

The Swift Tab Search Shortcut

This next feature is available only for the desktop version of Chrome and you will definitely want to try it considering how handy and convenient it can be. This new feature is pretty much a streamlined system for searching all the tabs you have already opened within Chrome. You can then quickly jump to any tab you want to see again. It is super easy to use this feature, simply click Ctrl-Shift-A and a new panel will pop up in the upper-right corner of Chrome. You will then see a list of all your currently open tabs that you can scroll up and down until you find what you are looking for. If the list of open tabs is too long, simply start typing the name of the tab you are looking for and the list will narrow down quickly to show you the page you are looking for. To hop to the tab you are looking for, simply press Enter.

The Custom Window Namer

The final feature in this article is yet another one available to the desktop version of Chrome only. This feature is also yet another one allowing you to have better organization and save a lot of time. This feature is an option that allows you to give your own custom name to any Chrome window you already have open and you will be able to see this name for the window in your taskbar or app-switching interface instead of seeing the original title of the tab. In order to start using this feature, you simply need to right-click in the open area at the top of a Chrome window – not where you see the tab title, but to the right of that. A menu will pop up and you need to select the “Name window” option. Then click the box near it and change its setting to “Enabled”, click the button on the bottom of the screen and restart your browser.
