Security

Dell Latitude E7270 review 1The Dell Latitude E7270 is a corporate laptop through and through. It's outfitted with a vPro CPU for remote management, has an NFC sensor for pairing with compatible devices, and includes a fingerprint scanner for biometric login. Security-conscious businesses will appreciate the TPM 2.0 chip, which stores sensitive data like encryption keys in a physically separate module that's much more difficult to hack than software-based solutions.

The E7270 also features hardware-based DEP and BIOS-level malware protection to guard against malicious code execution. And if that wasn't enough, Dell offers an optional security bundle that bundles together a SmartCard reader, a contactless SmartCard reader, and an extended service contract with on-site support.

Maintenance

The Dell Latitude E7270 is a 12-inch business notebook that offers a great mix of features, performance, and portability. Although it's not the lightest or thinnest notebook in its class, it's still very portable at just 3.4 pounds (1.5 kg) and 0.8 inches (2 cm) thick. The E7270 has a magnesium-alloy chassis that feels solid and well-built. It's also MIL-STD-810G certified for durability, meaning it can withstand drops, bumps, and other physical abuse. The hinges are stiff and there's very little flex in the lid or keyboard deck.

In terms of maintenance, the E7270 is very easy to service. The bottom panel can be removed without any tools, and all of the components are readily accessible. The hard drive, RAM, and Wi-Fi modules can all be replaced or upgraded without any difficulty. Overall, the Dell Latitude E7270 is an excellent business notebook that should be able to handle whatever you throw at it.
